出席	しゅっせき	授業や会議などに参加すること Attendance; being present	出席率が低いと単位がもらえない。 You can’t earn credits if your attendance rate is low. 毎回の授業に出席することが大切だ。 It’s important to attend every class.
提出	ていしゅつ	書類や課題を出すこと Submission; turning in (documents, assignments, etc.)	レポートの提出期限は来週の金曜日です。 The report submission deadline is next Friday. 宿題を先生に提出した。 I submitted my homework to the teacher.
遅刻	ちこく	約束の時間に遅れること Tardiness; being late	彼はよく授業に遅刻する。 He is often late for class. 遅刻しないように早めに家を出た。 I left home early to avoid being late.
単位	たんい	授業の成績や学習量を示す単位 Academic credit; unit	この授業は2単位です。 This class is worth 2 credits. 必要な単位を取得しなければ卒業できない。 You can’t graduate without earning the required credits.
授業料	じゅぎょうりょう	学校で授業を受けるための費用 Tuition fee	授業料が高くてアルバイトを始めた。 I started a part-time job because tuition is expensive. 授業料の支払いは月末までです。 The tuition payment is due by the end of the month.
学科	がっか	専門分野に分けられた学問の分類 Department; academic field	工学部には多くの学科がある。 The engineering faculty has many departments. 彼は文学の学科に進学した。 He enrolled in the literature department.
休講	きゅうこう	授業が休みになること Cancelled class	明日の授業は台風のため休講です。 Tomorrow’s class is cancelled due to the typhoon. 先生の都合で今週の授業は休講になった。 This week’s class was cancelled due to the teacher’s schedule.
成績	せいせき	学業の成果を数値などで表したもの Grades; academic performance	成績が下がってしまってがっかりした。 I was disappointed that my grades went down. 試験の成績が予想より良かった。 The test results were better than I expected.
指導	しどう	教え導くこと Guidance; instruction	先生の指導のもとで研究を行った。 I conducted my research under the professor’s guidance. 適切な指導があれば成績は上がる。 With proper guidance, grades will improve.
