読み方	意味	例文
進捗（しんちょく）	物事が進み具合	週に一度、チーム会議で開発の進捗を報告します。 [Once a week, I report on the development progress at the team meeting.]

文法	意味	接続/使い方	例文
～からといって	～という理由だけで（～とは限らない）	普通形	ローカル環境で動くからといって、本番環境で動くとは限りません。 [Just because it works in the local environment doesn’t mean it will work in the production environment.]
～以上（は）	～なのだから（当然）	普通形（なA・名詞は「～である」）	リードエンジニアに選ばれた以上、責任を持ってやり遂げます。 [Now that I have been chosen as the lead engineer, I will carry it out with responsibility.]
～かねない	～という悪い結果になる可能性がある	動詞ます形（「ます」を除く）	このまま放置すると、システムがダウンしかねない状況です。 [If we leave it like this, the system could potentially go down.]
～どころではない	～できる状況ではない	名詞 / 動詞辞書形	納期が明日なので、今はゆっくり休憩しているどころではありません。 [The deadline is tomorrow, so now is not the time to be taking a long break.]

マネージャー：順調ですね。何か問題はありませんか？

シルバイン：機能は動きますが、処理に時間がかかりすぎてサーバーに負荷がかかっています。

マネージャー：それは困りましたね。すぐに解決できそうですか？

シルバイン：コードを修正しているところですが、今日のリリースは難しそうです。

マネージャー：無理をしてミスが起きると、大きなトラブルになりかねないですからね。

シルバイン：おっしゃる通りです。焦って公開するどころではないので、まずは原因を共有します。

マネージャー：わかりました。専門家として、まずは確実に原因を特定することだね。

[English Translation]

Sylvain: I will report on the current progress. The implementation of the new analysis function has been completed.

Manager: Everything is on track. Are there any problems?

Sylvain: The function works, but the processing takes too much time and is putting a load on the server.

Manager: That’s a problem. Do you think you can solve it soon?

Sylvain: I am currently modifying the code, but it seems difficult to release it today.

Manager: That’s true, because if you push too hard and an error occurs, it could lead to major trouble.

Sylvain: Exactly. Now is not the time to rush the release, so first I will share the cause.

Manager: I see. As an expert, the most important thing is to first identify the cause reliably.

彼女：シルバイン君、最近遅くまで仕事しているけど大丈夫？

シルバイン：うん、今度のプロジェクトが複雑で。東大で研究していたからといって、仕事が全部簡単なわけじゃないね。

彼女：そうなんだ。でも、会社の人たちもシルバイン君を頼りにしているんでしょ？

シルバイン：エンジニアとして採用された以上、期待に応えたいと思っているよ。

彼女：あまり無理しないでね。倒れたら大変だよ。

シルバイン：ありがとう。でも今は、システムに致命的なバグが見つかって、のんびりデートしているどころではないんだ。

彼女：そっか、大変だね。何か私に手伝いできることはある？

シルバイン：話を聞いてくれるだけでリフレッシュできるよ。落ち着いたら、美味しいベジタリアン料理を食べに行こう。

Girlfriend: Sylvain, you’ve been working late recently, are you okay?

Sylvain: Yeah, this project is complex. Just because I did research at the University of Tokyo doesn’t mean all the work is easy.

Girlfriend: I see. But the people at the company are counting on you, right?

Sylvain: Now that I’ve been hired as an engineer, I want to meet their expectations.

Girlfriend: Don’t push yourself too hard. It would be terrible if you collapsed.

Sylvain: Thanks. But right now, a critical bug was found in the system, and it’s not the time to be going on a relaxed date.

Girlfriend: I see, that sounds tough. Is there anything I can do to help?
