(Senior, this is the draft plan for next year’s international scholarship program. Aiming for the acquisition of talented personnel, we have expanded the target capacity.)

田中: ありがとう、Valentinさん。申請者の専門分野や実績に応じて、選考基準を調整する必要があるね。

(Thank you, Valentin. We need to adjust the selection criteria according to the applicants’ fields of specialization and achievements.)

Valentin: はい。また、研究者を派遣する提携大学の拡大も進めており、指導教官のもとで高度な研究を行える環境を整えています。

(Yes. Also, we are promoting the expansion of partner universities to which researchers are dispatched, creating an environment where they can conduct advanced research under supervisors.)

田中: 素晴らしい。限られた予算の中で成果を出すためには、効率的な運用を心がけざるを得ないからね。

(Wonderful. In order to produce results within a limited budget, we have no choice but to keep efficient management in mind.)

Valentin: 承知いたしました。この教育支援を通してグローバルリーダーを育成することは、将来の国際的な協調関係を築くことにほかならないと考えております。

(Understood. I believe that nurturing global leaders through this educational support is nothing other than building future international cooperative relations.)

Pattern 2: Daily Life (Consultation on University Lectures and Exam Preparation)

健太: Valentin、N2の勉強は順調？外交官を目指すなら、さらに専門用語の獲得も必要だよね。

(Valentin, is your N2 study going well? If you’re aiming to be a diplomat, acquiring specialized vocabulary is also necessary, right?)

Valentin: うん、毎日覚えることが多くて大変だよ。でも、素晴らしい教授のもとで学べているから、自分の成長に応じて手応えを感じているんだ。

(Yeah, it’s hard with so much to memorize every day. But since I’m studying under wonderful professors, I feel a sense of progress according to my growth.)

健太: Valentinは奨学金の制度も活用しているんだっけ？

(Are you utilizing a scholarship system as well, Valentin?)

Valentin: そうなんだ。大学が受け入れ制度を拡充してくれたおかげで、留学が実現したよ。制度の助けがなければ、留学を諦めざるを得なかったと思う。

(That’s right. Thanks to the university expanding its acceptance system, studying abroad became a reality. Without the help of the system, I think I would have had no choice but to give up on studying abroad.)

健太: へえ！将来、海外へ専門家として派遣される日も近いね。
