(Aravindh, teleworking continues, but how are your health and lack of exercise?)

アラヴィンド:

はい、ありがとうございます。平日は在宅で座りっぱなしになりがちですが、業務前後に自転車に乗るようにしています。

(Yes, thank you. On weekdays I tend to sit all the time at home, but I try to ride my bicycle before and after work.)

リーダー(高橋):

それは素晴らしいね!都内は交通量も多いけれど、走りにくくはないですか?

(That’s wonderful! Traffic in Tokyo is heavy, but isn’t it difficult to ride?)

アラヴィンド:

日本の交通ルールに照らして、原則として車道の左側を走るよう心掛けています。近所の駐輪場も契約できたので、不便はありません。

(In light of Japanese traffic rules, I strive to ride on the left side of the roadway in principle. I was also able to contract a nearby bike parking lot, so there’s no inconvenience.)

リーダー(高橋):

安全第一で乗っているようで安心しました。気分転換もしながら頑張ってください!

Pattern 2: Online Small Talk About Recommended Cycling Routes (Everyday Life / Casual)

同僚(鈴木):

アラヴィンドさん、今週末もサイクリングに行くの?東京のおすすめルートってどこか見つけた?

(Aravindh, are you going cycling this weekend too? Have you found any recommended routes in Tokyo?)

アラヴィンド:

はい!多摩川や荒川をはじめとする河川敷のサイクリングロードが特にお気に入りです。川の流れに沿って走るのがすごく気持ちいいですよ。

(Yes! I especially like the riverside cycling roads starting with the Tama and Arakawa Rivers. Riding along the river flow feels really great.)

同僚(鈴木):

河川敷か!信号も少なくて走りやすそうだね。途中でトラブルとかはなかった?

(Riverside, huh! There are few traffic lights, so it looks easy to ride. No trouble along the way?)

アラヴィンド:

先週は突然の夕立で、橋の下で雨宿りを余儀なくされました(笑)。でも、それも良い思い出にすぎません。

(Last week, due to a sudden evening shower, I was forced to take shelter under a bridge (laughs). But even that is merely a good memory.)

同僚(鈴木):

ポジティブだね!今度、東京のベジタリアンカフェを経由するルートを走ったら教えてね!
